Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 TUSKEGEE, Ala. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) softball team took both ends of a Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) road doubleheader at the Tuskegee University Tigerettes by winning the opening contest 10-1 in six innings and the second game 6-4 in eight innings on Sunday afternoon.

In the opening game, SHC loaded the bases versus the Tigerettes (10-24, 8-3 SIAC) with one out in the top of the first inning and right fielder Katelyn Wilson cashed in the opportunity with a two-run double to right-centerfield and two batters later third baseman Rene Kausin added an RBI-single through the right side as the Badgers built out an early 4-0 advantage.

Tuskegee answered with a run in the bottom of the frame, but SHC continued to roll in the 3rd inning as run-scoring singles by second baseman Lauren Stewart and shortstop Carmen Byrd were followed by a bases-loaded walk by center fielder Jenna Charnock that made it a 7-1 SHC bulge. Kausin later crushed a two-run home run in the top of the 6th inning to make it a 10-1 difference.

Badger starter Caroline Sagrera (15-7) went the distance for the 18th time this season with six hits allowed, two walks and seven strike outs while Karisa Foye took the loss with eight hits, six walks and just one strike out.

In the nightcap, the Badgers cruised through the first six innings and built a 4-0 lead only watch Tuskegee slap a 3-run home run and solo homer in the bottom of the 7th frame to send the game to extra innings at 4-4. In the top of the 8th inning, SHC scored twice to retake a 6-4 cushion as Sagrera re-entered the game to sit the side down in order and collect the first Badger save of the year.

Wilson improved to 2-0 in just her second start of the year with seven innings of work, 10 hits allowed, three wlaks and six strike outs.

On the day, seven Badgers had multiple-hit performances led by catcher Kali Clement who collected four hits with two RBI and Kausin with four hits and three RBI. Stewart also had four hits with two RBI.
