Box Score The Spring Hill College (SHC) softball team earned a thrilling 1-0 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) victory over the Stillman College (SC) Lady Tigers on Friday afternoon at Murray Field.

Jenna Charnock from 3rd base in the 1st inning, but could mount little more offense for the rest of the contest. Charnock had reached on a walk and had stolen 2nd and 3rd bases earlier in the frame.
From there, senior starter
Caroline Sagrera (21-8) kept the Lady Tigers off the scoreboard allowing just an infield hit off the tip of her glove and a solid single to left field for two hits on the day with five walks and a hit batter. The right-hander also struck out nine batters.
For the Lady Tigers (18-21, 14-8 SIAC), starter Mickenzie Sparks (8-10) kept the Badgers hitless through 4.2 innings until SHC shortstop
Carmen Byrd ripped a single into right off the webbing of the glove of a leaping Meaghan Jackson at second base. Sparks finished the day with just the one hit allowed four walks, a hit batter and one strike out.
Spring Hill (35-14, 22-0 SIAC) will close out the 2016 season on Saturday with a noon with an SIAC doubleheader versus Stillman at Murray Field. Before the games at 11:30 a.m., the Badgers will honor their Senior Class teammates with the annual Senior Day ceremony.
