Box Score 2 FAIRFIELD, Ala. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) softball team swept a Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) doubleheader away from the Miles College Lady Bears by the scores of 8-0 and 6-0 on Sunday afternoon.
In the opening game senior starter
Caroline Sagrera (20-8) allowed just one hit with three walks and seven strike outs while freshman
Danielle Clark (10-6) earned the win in the nightcap with six hits, two walks and one strike out for her fifth shutout of the year.
At the plate, shortstop
Carmen Byrd had three hits and two RBI in the first game while right fielder
Katelyn Wilson had three hits with a double on the day. Badger second baseman
Lauren Stewart added three hits with an RBI in the twin bill.
For Miles, Karla Kennedy to the loss in the opener with 11 hits, two walks and a strike out as Kendruena McPhereson suffered the loss in Game Two with eight hits, four walks and three strike outs. Shortstop Victoria McDaniel also slapped a double for the Bears in the nightcap.
Spring Hill (33-14, 20-0 SIAC) will finish this three-game conference versus the Lady Bears (13-31, 12-5 SIAC) on Monday at 11:30 a.m.
