Box Score 2 GULF SHORES, Ala. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) softball team's offense erupted for 25 total hits in two non-conference victories over the Ave Maria University Gyrenes and the University of South Carolina-Beaufort (USCB) Sand Sharks at the Gulf Coast Invitational (GCI) Tournament at the Sportsplex on Friday.

Caroline Sagrera (5-6) earned the shutout in a 9-0 SHC victory in 5-innings over the Gyrenes (10-9) in the day's first game. The senior right-hander struck out 11 batters and allowed just three hits with no walks. At the plate, catcher

SHC scored five runs in the 2nd inning off Gyrene starter Meghan Sullivan (0-2) who allowed five runs off five hits and a walk. Later, SHC tacked on four more runs in the 4th inning off relievers Kaitlyn Packard and Gennifer Raulerson who combined to surrender five hits and two walks in three innings of work.
In the late game, Spring Hill took a 10-2 victory in six innings as the Badgers sprinted out to 5-1 lead in the 1st inning and chased Sand Sharks (7-11) starter Abby Pac (2-4) after just one-third of an inning of work with six hits allowed. Freshman
Danielle Clark improved her record to 4-3 on the season with a complete-game victory with six hits, two walks and four strike outs.
Six Badgers enjoyed multiple-hit games versus USCB led by second baseman
Savannah Folse. Wilson and Clement each added two hits with a double as third baseman
Rene Kausin collected three RBI of two singles.
Spring Hill (10-9) will continue play in the GCI in Gulf Shores on Saturday versus the Brenau University Golden Tigers (11-5) at 9 a.m. and the Martin Methodist College RedHawks (14-4) at 1 p.m.
