Softball opens SIAC Crossover with two wins in Jasper
Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 JASPER, Ala. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) softball team opened the 2016 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Divisional Crossover series by defeating the Albany State University Golden Rams 7-2 in the afternoon game and the Benedict College Tigers 8-4 in the evening contest.

Badger starter Caroline Sagrera (11-7) earned a complete-game victory over the Golden Rams (5-15, 3-3 SIAC) with just three hits allowed, a walk and nine strike outs while Spring Hill hitter tallied nine hits including a two-run pinch hit home run by Mary Glass.

Danielle Clark moved to 7-4 in the evening victory over the Tigers (9-12, 4-4 SIAC) by surrendering five hits with a walk. Clark notched her career-high of 14 strike outs, including five of the final six Tiger batters. Spring Hill knocked 13 hits around the park as Katelyn Wilson went 3-for-3 at the plate with three RBI.

Spring Hill (19-11, 8-0 SIAC) will next continue play at the SIAC Divisional Crossover in Jasper on Friday beginning with the Paine College Lions (1-6, 1-6 SIAC) at 4 p.m.
