Clark no-hits Lane in 8-0 victory
Box Score Badger freshman right-hander Danielle Clark pitched her first career no-hitter on Monday morning as the Spring Hill College (SHC) softball team completed a three-game Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) series sweep of the Lane College Lady Dragons with a six inning 8-0 victory at Murray Field.

The Lady Dragons (7-6, 3-6 SIAC) put just two runners on base versus Clark (6-4) following an infield fielding error in the 3rd inning and a two-out walk in the 6th inning as Clark struck out nine opposing batters.

For the SHC offense, first baseman Madeline Burchell was 3-for-4 with an RBI and senior left fielder Taylor Lahasky enjoyed a 3-for-3 day with a triple and a run batted in. Freshman catcher Kali Clement knocked two singles with an RBI and designated player Randi DeArmitt collected two hits with a double and an RBI.

Desiray Sturgeon (0-2) took the loss for Lane with 12 hits allowed, two walks and no strike outs.

Spring Hill (17-10, 6-0 SIAC) will next play at the SIAC Divisional Crossover in Jasper, Ala., on Thursday through Saturday beginning with Albany State University (5-14, 3-2 SIAC) at 12 p.m. on Thursday.
