Box Score JACKSON, Tenn. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) men's basketball team lost an 82-72 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) road decision to the Lane College (LC) Dragons on Monday night at J. F. Lane Gymnasium to close out a two-week, four-game road trip.
SHC grabbed a quick 6-0 lead over the Dragons (14-10, 10-4 SIAC West) to open the game, but Lane rallied to tie the game at 8-8 with 13 minutes to go until halftime. Two minutes later Lane would build out a 16-10 bulge, but the Badgers fought back to tie the game 24-24 with under four minutes until the intermission.
Just before the half a succession of Badger turnovers led to fast break buckets for the Dragons as the SHC deficit grew to 35-24 with 40 seconds left on the first half clock.
Lane hit the floor running in the second half and quickly built out a 49-35 advantage and led 55-39 with 12:38 remaining, but once again the Badgers battled back to fill in the gap to a 60-56 disadvantage with 5:35 to go. The Dragons found some more answers to reestablish a 70-58 lead at the 3-minute mark, however.

Sawyer Glick scored 21 points while
Walter Massey added 12 points.
Jared Holland and
Chase Shellman each contributed 10 points to the Badger cause.
SHC shot 48% (24-50) from the field including 36.8% (7-19) from 3-point distance. The Badgers lost 24 turnovers to 16 steals by Lane who also out-rebounded the Badgers by a 37-30 margin.
Lane was led by Terrance Bridgeman with 22 points and Malcolm McDonald pitched in 14 points with Kelsey Eubanks adding 10 points off the bench. The Dragons made 45.9% (28-61) of their shots and 31.3% (5-16) of their attempts from beyond the arc. Lane lost 18 turnovers versus eight Badger steals.
The Badgers (7-16, 6-9 SIAC West) will finally return home on Monday, February 15, with an SIAC game versus the LeMoyne-Owen College Magicians (10-13, 7-7 SIAC West) beginning at 7:30 p.m. in the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center.
