Men's Basketball closes out season with 81-69 loss to West Florida
Box Score The Spring Hill College (SHC) men's basketball team closed out the 2015-16 season with an 81-69 non-conference loss to the University of West Florida (UWF) Argonauts on Wednesday night at the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center.

The Argonauts (7-18) held a 41-37 lead at halftime and as much as 15-point advantage with 2½ minutes to play.

Redshirt freshman Sawyer Glick tied his season-high with 27 points and senior guard Jarrett Calhoun scored 10 points for the Badgers. Spring Hill shot 43.4% (23-53) from the floor including 50% (11-22) from three-point distance. The Badger suffered 16 turnovers in the face of eight steals by the Argos while rebounding was a draw at 30 boards for each team.

UWF was paced by Austin Somerfield who scored 26 points while playing all 40 minutes of the contest. Mario Stramaglia added 18 points, Jason Laatsch had 12 points and Rashaan Benson put in 11 points for the Argonauts. UWF shot 49.1% (26-53) on the night and 33.3% (7-21) from behind the three-point arc while completing 88% (22-25) of their free throws. The visitors from Pensacola lost 17 turnovers to four steals by the Badgers.

The Badgers finished the season 9-19 overall and 7-11 in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC).
