Badger women finish year with 66-52 loss to Kentucky State
Box Score The Spring Hill College (SHC) women's basketball team closed out the 2015-2016 season with a 66-52 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) West Division loss to the Kentucky State University (KSU) Thorobrettes at the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center on Saturday afternoon.

The Thorobrettes (21-3, 15-2 SIAC West) fell behind the Badgers 17-12 after the first quarter of play, but bounced back to take a 33-26 lead into the halftime locker rooms.

KSU built out as much a 17-point advantage late in the 4th quarter as Thorobrette Joymesia Howard led all scorers with 20 points.

For SHC, center Leah Washington put 14 points into the buckets and Camry Johnson plucked down 11 rebounds. The Badgers shot 30.9% (17-55) from the floor including 26.3% (5-19) from three-point range. Spring Hill out-rebounded KSU 41-34, but lost 22 turnovers to 15 steals by the Thorobrettes that turned into 17 points for the visitors from Frankfort.

Kentucky State shot 39.3% (22-56) from the floor and 25% (2-8) from three-point distance, while outscoring the Badgers 30-18 in the paint. KSU lost 12 turnovers to five Badger steals.

The Badgers finished the season with a 10-16 overall mark and an 8-9 record in the SIAC.
