Softball sweeps SIAC doubleheader from Kentucky State
Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The Spring Hill College (SHC) softball team took both ends of a Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) doubleheader by identical 12-5 scores in five innings each over the Kentucky State University (KSU) Thorobrettes on Sunday afternoon at Murray Field.

The Thorobrettes (0-2, 0-2 SIAC) jumped on top of the Badgers 3-2 in the 1st inning of the first game, but Spring Hill answered back with two runs in the 3rd inning and then exploded for eight runs in the 5th frame to take a 12-5 Mercy Rule victory. Senior starter Caroline Sagrera (2-5) went the distance with two hits allowed, three walks and nine strike outs while centerfielder Jenna Charnock had two hits and two stolen bases and third baseman Rene Kausin connected on a three-run triple.

The second game saw the Badgers tally a nine-run 3rd inning in route to another 12-5 decision in five innings. Freshman Danielle Clark (2-2) earned the complete-game victory with just one hit allowed, five walks and four strike outs. Left fielder Katelyn Wilson enjoyed a 3-for-4 contest while right fielder Savannah Folse and third baseman Madeline Burchell each had two hits for Spring Hill.

The Badgers (4-7, 2-0 SIAC) finishe this series with a single game versus KSU at Murray Field on Monday at 10 a.m.
