Badger women fall at buzzer to UMobile, 69-66
Box Score The Spring Hill College (SHC) women's basketball team lost a 69-66 non-conference overtime decision to the University of Mobile Lady Rams at the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center on Monday evening.
 
The Lady Rams (3-0) trailed the Badgers by 19 points at 48-29 with 2:54 to go in the 3rd quarter, but rallied to tie the game at 60-60 and send the game into overtime where a half court jumper by Kali Koenig at the final buzzer handed Mobile the 69-66 victory.
 
Spring Hill was paced by freshman Elise Reilly with 17 points followed by Johnta Hughes with 14 points and senior Alishia DraytonLewis with 12 points. The Badgers shot 40.3% (25-62) from the field and 38.5% (5-13) from 3-point range while out-rebounding the Lady Rams 43-35. SHC hurt itself with 19 turnovers versus seven steals by Mobile and benefited from just 12 turnovers off one Badger steal.
 
Mobile shot 34.4% (21-61) overall and 42.9% (6-14) from 3-point land as Starla Daggan led all scorers with 34 points and Koenig added 20 points.
 
Spring Hill (1-1) will next visit the University of South Alabama (USA) Lady Jaguars (0-2) on Thursday at 7 p.m. for an exhibition contest in the USA Mitchell Center.
