Box Score 2 MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) softball team swept a Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) doubleheader away from the LeMoyne-Owen College (LOC) Lady Magicians on Saturday afternoon by the scores of 12-0 and 19-2 at Buckhead Creek Recreation Complex.
Badger junior starter
Caroline Sagrera struck out 15 of the 16 batters she faced and allowed just one hit - a 1st-inning single to right by Lady Magician (0-13, 0-11 SIAC West) catcher Erin Lincoln - as she ran her season record to 26-6 with 350 total strikeouts.
SHC freshman
Kimberly Small (4-1) was the complete-game winner in Game Two taking in six strikeouts with two walks and giving up just two hits. Both hits came in the 2nd inning as pitcher Rhonda Willis' lead-off single was followed by a home run to left by third baseman Tierney Keaton.
The Badgers stroked 28 hits in the two games with senior first baseman
Elise deBruler collecting six hits and seven RBIs including four doubles and a 1st-inning Grand Slam in the first game. Senior shortstop
Shea Blanchard blasted two solo home runs in the second game while freshman second baseman
Carmen Byrd picked up four hits with three RBIs on the afternoon
Spring Hill (36-7, 18-0 SIAC West) will close out the 2015 home season with a non-conference doubleheader versus the William Carey University Lady Crusaders (29-10) at Murray Field on Tuesday beginning at 2 p.m.
