Golden Tigers outlast Badgers in overtime, 72-62
Box Score The Spring Hill College (SHC) men's basketball team suffered a 72-62 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) overtime loss to the Tuskegee University Golden Tigers on Thursday night at the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center.

The Golden Tigers (11-9, 8-5 SIAC West) trailed the Badgers 28-22 at the half and by as much as 14 points at 40-26 with 14:36 to play in the 2nd half, but rallied to take their first lead of the contest at 51-50 with 1 minute remaining off a layup by Graham Olatunji.

Olatunji would make the front end of a pair of free throws but miss the backend to put the Golden Tigers up by two with 22 seconds on the clock. Senior guard Robert Drummond made a backdoor layup at the buzzer off an entry assist by junior guard Jarrett Calhoun to tie the game at 52-52 and set up the overtime.

Tuskegee never trailed in the extra period making four of their six shots and draining 11-of-15 free throws to secure the come-from-behind victory.

Spring Hill shot 46.9% (23-49) overall in the game and 35.7% (5-14) from 3-point land, but lost 18 turnovers to 11 steals by Tuskegee and made just 55% (11-20) of their free throws. Calhoun put 17 points in the nets as sophomore center Dejan Stefanovic and junior guard Wesley Pietri added 11 each for the Badgers.

Tuskegee was led by Camden Foster with 14 points as four Golden Tigers cracked the double-digit scoring barrier. The Golden Tigers lost just 10 turnovers to two steals by SHC and took a slight 37-35 edge in rebounding including a 6-1 margin under the boards in overtime. Tuskegee was 39.7% (23-58) from the floor overall and 34.8% (8-23) from long distance.

Spring Hill (7-15, 6-7 SIAC West) will next host the Stillman College Tigers (13-7, 9-4 SIAC West) in the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center beginning at 4 p.m. on Saturday.
