Spring Hill tennis women earn first SIAC victory with 6-0 win over Albany State
COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) women's tennis team took a 6-0 conference victory over the Albany State University Golden Rams on Thursday morning at the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Divisional Round Up held at the Parklawn Tennis Courts. The victory marked the program's first win in their new conference home.

The Badgers led the Golden Rams by a 3-0 score after doubles play and secured the victory with wins on the Nos. 1, 2 and 5 singles courts.

1.  Maria Hastings Oro (SHC) def. L. Hale (ASU) 6-0, 6-1
2.  Elizabeth Peters (SHC) def. S. Heard (ASU) 6-0, 6-3
3.  Kate Sotolongo (SHC) vs. V. Moultrie (ASU), DNF
4.  Heather Sutton (SHC) vs. K. Thompson (ASU), DNF
5.  Megan Gietl (SHC) def. K. Livatt (ASU) 6-0, 6-1
6.  Allison Gmelich (SHC) def. C. Felton (ASU) DNF

Doubles:
1.   Hastings Oro/Peters (SHC) def. Livatt/Heard (ASU) 8-1
2.   Sutton/Gietl (SHC) def. Hale/Thompson (ASU) 8-4
3.   Gmelich/Sotolongo (SHC) def. Moultrie/Felton (ASU) 9-7

Spring Hill (2-3, 1-1 SIAC) continues play at the SIAC Round Up on Friday and Saturday.
