Box Score The Spring Hill College (SHC) women's basketball team closed out its first season as an NCAA Division II member with an 87-73 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) West Division victory over the Lane College Lady Dragons on Monday evening at the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center.
The Lady Dragons (5-19, 5-13 SIAC West) fell behind 20-9 nine minutes into the game, but rally to cut the Badger advantage down to 40-36 at halftime.
In the second half, Spring Hill took control early and never looked back, leading by as much as 23 points at 72-49 with 5:20 left to play.

Twarner Witherspoon scored her career-high and the Badger season-high with 26 points as senior guard
Elissa VandeWaa added 15 points. As a team, Spring Hill shot an even 50% (32-64) from the floor including a sizzling 64.7% (11-17) from3-point distance. The Badgers suffered 18 turnovers to seven Dragon steals, but controlled the boards by a 45-35 margin in rebounding.
For Lane, Tiffany Martin dropped in 24 points while Chloe Roberts contributed 22 points with Crystal Rayford dropping in another 12 points and 11 rebounds. The Dragons shot 40% (28-70) overall and 28.6% (2-7) from beyond the arc while losing 14 turnovers to five Badger steals.
Ineligible for post-season play during the 3-year NCAA reclassification process, the Badgers finished the year 14-12 overall and 11-7 in the SIAC West Division, marking the programs first winning season since the 2004-2005 season when the team finished 19-13 overall and 10-8 in the NAIA's Gulf South Athletic Conference (GCAC).
