SHC men run past Thorobreds, 73-52
Box Score The Spring Hill College (SHC) men's basketball team earned a 73-52 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) victory over the Kentucky State Thorobreds on Thursday night at the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center.

Spring Hill never trailed in the contest and built out a 36-19 lead over the Thorobreds (8-16, 6-11 SIAC West) at halftime after leading by as much as 22 points with 3:32 remaining in the 1st half.

KSU twice cut the margin to 14 points, but could get no closer as the Badgers answered each Thorobred rally with a charge of their own.

Senior guard Robert Drummond scored 18 points for the Badgers as SHC shot a blistering 50.9% (29-57) from the field and was 54.5% (6-11) in 3-point shooting. SHC squeaked out a 33-32 victory in rebounding, but lost 18 turnovers to just six Thorobred steals.

Ulysses Thomas III scored 12 points for KSU as the visitors from Frankfort shot 38.6% (17-44) from the floor and 25% (3-12) from beyond the arc. KSU lost 16 turnovers to six steals by the home-standing Badgers.

Spring Hill (9-17, 8-9 SIAC West) will next host the LeMoyne-Owen College Magicians (13-13, 9-8 SIAC West) on Saturday beginning at 4 p.m. in the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center.
