Box Score TUSKEGEE, Ala. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) men's basketball team fought to a 51-46 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) road victory over the Tuskegee University Golden Tigers on Thursday night in Chappie James Arena.
With the Golden Tigers (12-10, 9-6 SIAC West) and the Badgers tied 21-21 at the intermission, SHC scored the first eight points of the 2nd half sparked by junior guard
Jarrett Calhoun's two 3-point buckets to open the period. Tuskegee would rally to take a three-point lead at 37-34 with just over 10 minutes remaining in the game, but a jumper in the paint by sophomore center
Dejan Stefanovic with 9:45 remaining gave the Badgers a lead they would not relinquish for the rest of the night.
Senior guard
Robert Drummond would seal the deal with 10 seconds remaining when he converted the first of two free throws to give SHC a 49-46 advantage, but missed the backend only to recover his own rebound and draw the foul. Both of his free throws found purchase on this occasion as the Badgers wrapped up the 51-46 win.
Calhoun scored his personal season-high with 23 points as the Badgers shot 38.6% (17-44) from the field and 40% (6-15) from 3-point range while out-rebounding Tuskegee 33-28. SHC lost 13 turnovers to five Tuskegee steals.
