Box Score 2 HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) softball team split a non-conference doubleheader at the William Carey University Lady Crusaders by winning the opening contest 3-2 and dropping the second game 9-3 on Tuesday evening at William & Nancy Fail Field.

Caroline Sagrera (2-1) earned the complete game victory with three hits allowed, nine strikeouts and five walks. Brittany LeBlanc (0-1) took the loss in six inning of work with eight hits, three walks and two strikeouts.

Kimberly Small (0-1) who lasted just one inning with six hits and two walks.
Second baseman
Carmen Byrd led the Badger offense with four hits on the day and two RBI. Carey's Chelsea Nette had three hits and an RBI for the home team.
Spring Hill (2-2) hosts the Kentucky State University Thorobrettes in a doubleheader at Murray Field at noon on Saturday to open their first season in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC).
