Lions hunt down Badgers, 76-58
Box Score AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) men's basketball team opened its debut season in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) with a 76-58 loss to the Paine College Lions on Saturday afternoon in the HEAL Complex.

The Lions (5-3, 1-0 SIAC) led 32-27 at the halftime intermission and built out as much as a 21-point advantage at 68-47 with six minutes left in the game.

Junior guard Wesley Pietri was the only Badger to reach double-digits in scoring with 16 points off a 7-for-8 performance on the day.  As a team, SHC shot 36.5% (12-33) from the field and 33.3% (6-18) from 3-point distance. The Badgers hauled in 29 rebounds, but surrendered 35 boards to the Lions who were led in the category by Arnis Libazs with 10 boards. SHC limited its turnovers to 10 against eight steals by Paine while forcing the Lions into 11 turnovers with six SHC steals.

Three Lions totaled double-digit scoring led by Denzel Dillingham with a game-high 20 points. Paine totaled a 57.1 (28-49) shooting percentage from the field and an impressive 62.5% (10-16) from 3-point distance.

Spring Hill (1-9, 0-1 SIAC) will next visit Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) opponent the Morehouse College Maroon Tigers (3-5, 1-0 SIAC) at Frank L. Forbes Arena in Atlanta, Ga., beginning at 7:30 p.m. (Eastern) on Monday.
