Spring Hill smoked by Dragons, 62-56
Box Score JACKSON, Tenn. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) men's basketball team lost a Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) decision in a 62-56 downturn to the Lane College Dragons on Saturday afternoon at J.F. Lane Gymnasium.

The Dragons (7-8, 6-3 SIAC West) held a 27-23 edge at the intermission, but the Badgers rallied to take a 41-39 lead with 9 minutes to play. Lane rebuilt a 7-point advantage at 58-51 with 56 seconds remaining and made just enough free throws to keep the Badgers at arm's length the rest of the way.

Junior guard Jarrett Calhoun had 17 points to lead the Badgers and freshman guard Jack Morrissey added 12 points as Spring Hill shot 34% (18-53) from the floor and 29.2% (7-24) from 3-point distance. The Badgers lost 13 turnovers to 10 steals by Lane.

Lane was paced by Donald Stewart with 25 points and 11 rebounds while Terrance Bridgeman put 17 points through the hoops. Lane was 41.5% (22-53) overall in shooting and 50% (6-12) from behind the arc. The Dragons slipped by SHC in rebounding by a slim 32-31 margin and lost nine turnovers to just one SHC steal.

Spring Hill (6-13, 5-5 SIAC West) travels to Memphis, Tenn., on Monday as they play the third game of a four-game road swing in a 7:30 p.m. game at the LeMoyne-Owen College Magicians (8-8, 5-3 SIAC West) at Bruce/Johnson Hall.
