Badgers struggle in 51-39 home loss to Benedict
Box Score The Spring Hill College (SHC) men's basketball team went without a field goal for the final 6:51 of a Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) home loss to the Benedict College Tigers by a score of 51-39 on Saturday evening at the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center.

The Tigers (5-5, 3-1 SIAC East) held a 27-20 advantage at the half, but the Badgers rallied to cut the deficit down to 36-35 at 14:32 of the 2nd half. From there, the Badger offense went cold and managed just four points for the rest of the period off a 3-point bucket by freshman guard Jack Morrissey at 6:51 and a free throw by freshman guard Matevz Rojc at the 2 minute mark.

Freshman guard James Clarke scored 11 points off a 4-for-8 performance from the field as SHC shot 35.9% (14-39) overall and 23.8% (5-21) from 3-point distance while suffering 17 turnovers against 10 steals by the Tigers. The Badgers out-rebounded Benedict 29-26.

Benedict's Jordan Smith tallied 15 points for the game's high mark as the Tigers shot 42.2% (19-45) from the floor and 37.5% (6-16) in 3-point attempts. SHC took away just three steals as Benedict lost the ball 10 times.

Spring Hill (2-11, 1-3 SIAC West) will wrap up its current 3-game home stand by hosting SIAC opponent the Albany State University Golden Rams (5-4, 1-1 SIAC East) at the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center on Monday at 8 p.m.
