Box Score TOUGALOO, Miss. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) men's basketball team lost to non-conference opponent the Tougaloo College Bulldogs by a score of 69-50 in a Monday night road outcome.
SHC led Tougaloo (2-5) 29-26 at the half, but could not hold on as the Bulldogs rallied for the win.
Freshman guard
Jack Morrissey came off the bench to pace the Badgers with 14 points as the Badgers shot 44.2% (19-43) from the field and 30.8% (4-13) from the 3-point line. The Badgers out-rebounded the Bulldogs 34-27, but lost 23 turnovers versus 12 Tougaloo steals.
The Bulldogs were led by Marshun McGee with 19 points and shot 44% (22-50) overall and 40% (12-30) from the 3-point arc. Tougaloo suffered just 12 turnovers to five steals by the Badgers.
Spring Hill (1-7) will host historic Jesuit rival the Loyola University (La.) Wolf Pack (5-4) on Wednesday in the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center beginning at 7:30 p.m.
The Wednesday night contest also will be part of the Jesuit Basketball Spotlight (JBS). The JBS is a nationwide effort to capitalize on basketball games between Jesuit schools and, through those games, bring greater positive awareness and exposure to Jesuit education and its shared mission. This project was developed by the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities (AJCU) in 2008 in response to member institutions wanting to spread the word of Jesuit higher education through the more than 90 basketball games in which Jesuit institutions play each other every season.
