Spring Hill College Athletics

John "Johnny" Carwie developed his love for the Badgers during his time as a student in the early 1950’s and he continued his passion for Spring Hill Athletics long after his graduation. Carwie for many years owned the ACE Hardware store across the street from the college and was known as the “Mayor of Spring Hill.” His support of SHC Athletics and assistance to specifically the men’s basketball and baseball programs was significant, especially from the 1980’s through his passing in 2013. One of the examples of the Carwie family’s contribution was the funding for Carwie’s Upper Deck at Sims-Galle Field.
