A freshman on the women’s outdoor track & field team from Metairie, La., Sauvage placed 6th of 16 javelin competitors with a heave of 32.88 meters at the Southern Mississippi Invitational held in a soggy Hattiesburg Miss., on Saturday. Earlier this year, she set the SHC women’s javelin record with a toss of 33.69 meters. Sauvage also competed in the shot put with a 10.67-meter effort and in the discus with a 28.68-meter fling.
