Byrd, a sophomore softball shortstop from Mt. Vernon, Ala., was 11-of-35 (.314) at the plate this week with three doubles, four RBI, eight runs scored and three stolen bases in nine game. For the season, she is hitting .355 with 59 hits, eight doubles, three triples, 48 runs scored and 14 stolen bases.
